Dr. Gomez holds a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St Louis, The United States, and a MSc in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Engineering and Process Systems and a BSc in Chemical and Systems Engineering, both from The Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM).
He has extensive experience in process design, technology transfer, operations troubleshooting, and streamlining production processes concentrated on environmental compliance and process optimization. In 2015, Dr. Gomez was appointed as Technical Director at Molecular Filtration Inc. where he oversaw the process design and development of ceramic membrane systems for chemical plants, and Oil & Gas industries with an emphasis on process intensification and waste water recovery.
Dr. Gomez has over 15 years of experience working at IHSA, Aspen Technology, JESCA Fiberglass Products, and ITESM, where he served as Process Analysis Leader, Sr. Business Consultant, Production Manager, Lecturer, and Associate Research Scientist. From 1982 to 1986 he worked as Head of Department at The Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP) where Dr. Gomez led the development of hydrogen fuel cells, the process integration of petrochemical plants, the thermodynamic simulation of oil reservoirs and the design of desalination systems using alternative energy sources. He was a visiting scientist at Los Alamos National Lab in New Mexico, USA.
